Feeling very thankful that Brian has recovered from his chemo and hopefully cancer is behind us, that we survived the turkey trot in a blizzard, and especially for those homemade rolls 🤣

I actually didn’t make the dinner rolls - but I made the turkey again and I think it’s even better than last year’s!

I’m also thankful for my sister-in-laws who came to visit and my mother-in-law, who made most of the meal 🍽️ Happy Thanksgiving 🦃

“This seems… ambitious,” was all Brian said to me when he came downstairs on Saturday afternoon and found me in the midst of wallpapering the kitchen backsplash 🤣

But listen, I think I cope with stress by doing projects. Which incidentally cause more stress, but then I finish the project and feel amazing 🤩

This is the same beadboard wallpaper (yes, wallpaper!) that I used in Evangeline’s room. Lmk if you want the link to it 👍🏻

Now I just have to decide if I should do the other kitchen walls 🤔

When Evangeline was 4 weeks old, Brian had surgery

When Evangeline was 4 weeks old, Brian had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. It’s been a whirlwind - from the time he saw the doctor, he was in surgery less than a week later. The prognosis is good, but surgery recovery was brutal, and is still ongoing.

We went back and forth on whether or not to do one dose of chemo, but based on Brian’s family history and the doctor’s recommendation, we decided to go ahead with it.

Chemo is scheduled for Thursday. So many times since September, we’ve looked at each other and said “I can’t believe this is actually happening!”

I’m at a loss for words to sum this up, but we would appreciate all your thoughts and prayers.

Im pretty happy with how it turned out, not bad for my first mural! If I did it over again, I’d make the strawberries a lot bigger. But I’m thinking I might make painting a new mural on the doors an annual thing!

In the most recent episode of @dwellingplacepod I told the girls about finally finish this shed - it took from April to August 🙌🏻
