Ikea organizing products are a favorite of mine – incredible prices and great quality!
My husband and I went to Ikea a couple of months ago and picked up a few things for some upcoming projects. Namely, we’re redoing our master bedroom closets and installing some systems there. So, it was the perfect time to take a look at some of the new products that are in Ikea and just revisit some of my old favorites. If you are interested in organizing and you are on a budget, you can find so many wonderful things at Ikea for a great price and really good quality. Let’s dive in.
Closet:
Skubb drawer dividers: One of my very favorite things from Ikea are the drawer organizers – the SKUBB drawer organizers. They change up the colors of these every now and then. If you no longer need them, they fold up flat. They come in a pack of six. So, there two small cubes, two long-ish ones and then two of the large square size, all in one pack. You can really maximize your drawer space with some clever file folding!
Skubb shoeboxes: They have a mesh panel in the front, so you can see in and see your shoes. I obviously haven’t used it yet, but I’m thinking in our closets, this will be nice for storing off-season shoes, so they won’t be dusty, and they’ll be protected and contained nicely.
Wood hangers: My other favorite things to get in Ikea for the closet are wooden hangers. These are super affordable. You can get a massive pack of them at Ikea. Nothing elevates your closet more than having all- matching wooden hangers. When you go to get dressed in the morning, it feels like you’re shopping in a fancy boutique. They do take up more space because they’re thicker than your standard hangers. So, if you have a lot of clothes, I recommend going with a narrow velvet hanger but if you have space, I highly recommend these because they just feel amazing in your closet.
Toys:
Trofast system: I love the Trofast storage system for toys. I love this so much more than the kind that you might find elsewhere which has the rails and you put bins on it, but you can see everything in it. This just looks so much neater and tidier, and you can swap out the bins for different sizes. There are so many different configurations you can get this in, and you can get it in a few different finishes.
felt bins: So, when we were there, I picked up three of these. These are felt cubes. They snap together with these gold snaps, which I think is really pretty. And I love gold. They just provide a cool texture. I feel that I’m really into felt stuff these days. And I think it’s really fun for a kid’s room just to have something really soft like this. It’s probably a little bit sturdier than your average cube and they fit right into a cube unit.
Kallax cube unit: Of course, along with the Trofast storage system, a cube unit is always great too, especially combined with some felt bins like that or baskets.
laundry hamper: Also, you can get really affordable laundry hampers. These are very tall. You can use these for storing stuffed animals, balls, any large toys.
Office:
Flytt magazine holders: Moving on to the office, these are cardboard, and they fold out. I use these for magazines obviously, but I also use them to store my printer paper and shipping supplies. I worked with other people such as homeschooling moms who use it to keep their homeschooling materials and it just looks great on your shelf because it hides it. You can have it labeled. And these are super affordable. You can also store files in them on your desk or shelf and they just give a nice, uniformed look so you’re not looking at all that clutter on the back end.
Tjog paper boxes: These boxes come flat, and they’re pretty easy to assemble. They are made of cardboard, but they’re very sturdy. These are great for storing files that you have to hang on to but don’t have to access all the time. We are going to use these in our closet for storing our sentimental items. I’m going to put them up on the shelf. There’s a cube size and then there’s a slightly longer rectangular one, which I also got. And they also have some that are smaller than this. These would be awesome for storing photos and scrapbooks. They also come in a lot of different colors and I think they have some pattern options too.
Water Hyacinth cubes, Bamboo Cube: I’ve seen these used in offices and they can be really cool, especially when they’re combined with the little wooden thing with the drawers. It would be really awesome for organizing office supplies.
Kitchen:
pot lid holder: This is useful for keeping your pots stacked up or keeping the lids together. I’ve even used it before for my Tupperware. I don’t really need it at the moment, but there are a lot of great uses for this
Bamboo drawer dividers: I have a couple of these, and I really love them. I love that you can get different sizes and configurations to fit your drawers. I find they fit really well in the Ikea drawers. And my kitchen is an Ikea kitchen so it kind of works out perfectly! But being able to keep your utensils sorted is huge in a kitchen and to be able to find stuff and put stuff away is a huge help.
Glass pantry containers (Ikea 365): So, when I went to Ikea, I was really hoping to get a certain pantry container. It’s a glass cylinder with a bamboo lid that seals. They’re so pretty and something similar in other stores is so much more expensive. However, our Ikea was sold out of those.
So, instead, I got these: Plastic flip-top pantry containers. I’m really liking these. I got a whole bunch of them and I’ve been using them for snacks in our pantry and some baking supplies too. The flip-top is really nice and it’s just a good size for snacks. I can fit two bags of cocoa almonds in one of these perfectly, and one bag of animal crackers fits perfectly.
They also have great jars with lids, such as the canning jar style and all different sizes. They have square glass containers with lids. There are so many pantry options. Getting your supplies at a place like Ikea is a great way to go.
Ikea Anywhere:
Brogrund Box, set of three: I have my other two in use in the bathroom, but these are going to be great for organizing office supplies. They can just go about anywhere. I know people that use them for craft supplies, which I think is a really good idea.
Dragan bamboo organizer: This is a jewelry box. There’s a bigger wooden box on the bottom and then two smaller compartments on top that lift off. I think I’m going to use this for some of Brian’s stuff in his closet, like his belt, a place to drop his keys and wallet, that kind of stuff.
It does have a little divider in it too so you can divide the space inside it even more. You know I love the bamboo, but this could be great for office supplies too. You can even keep it on your desk. And it would be great in the bathroom organizing your skincare or makeup, or toiletries.
There are baskets galore at Ikea, of any size and any shape you could possibly want. I loved these particular baskets that are new: Lustigkurre Basket. They make amazing laundry hampers. You can store blankets and pillows in them, toys, all kinds of things.
- Sinad Basket
- Hurring Basket
- Another lustigkurre basket
- Moppe mini storage
I think I wrapped up some of my favorite Ikea products. There are so many organizing products that Ikea that I could make a dozen videos about them!
But I hope that this gives you a little idea of what you can find there. And I would love to know what great Ikea organizing products you found there, or your favorite Ikea products in general.
I’m hoping to go back to Ikea before too long because we needed a few more things for our closet project, and maybe I’ll add them to my list!
