Come along for a day in quarantine with us! This was a GOOD day – some days we’re still in pajamas at noon. But like I talk about in the video, we have to redefine “productivity” for ourselves during this pandemic.
I struggle with anxiety and depression, and simple things like eating breakfast, getting dressed, going outside, and having a routine help me feel productive, which in turn lowers my anxiety and improves how I feel. Organizing and decluttering also help me cope.
But the main thing I hope you take away from this video is the message at the end – your worth is not dependent on your productivity!
My Tips For a Productive Day
- Eat breakfast.
- Do the dishes RIGHT after each meal – don’t let them pile up. It takes so much less time than you think to just do it now!
- Get dressed, and even do your makeup! Do it for yourself, not anyone else.
- Go outside – even if just for a short walk in the rain (or snow).
- Have a routine – it doesn’t need to be a “schedule” with specific times for each thing, but a general flow of the day relieves a lot of frustrations and brings as sense of order.
- Take on small projects that will give you a sense of accomplishment.
- Remember that your worth is not dependent on your productivity. You have value and worth no matter how much you get done – even if the only thing you get done is getting out of bed.
This time is not wasted. You’re doing more than you think, and God is doing more than you think, in you.
What’s one thing that helps you feel productive, even if you don’t get to your whole list?
