Whether you’re getting lightly toasted or slightly scorched, I created a list of ways to practice some self-care. In spite of vacations and no school, summer can still be surprisingly taxing. I mean, someone said that taking a family vacation is really just yelling at your kids in a different place … for moms, there’s no “vacation” in “family vacation.”
Plus, with kids out of school, there’s playdates to plan, summer bucket lists, summer reading lists, trips to take, and before you know it, your summer days are full. Plus, you have to do it all in the heat.
At this point in the summer, you’re either:
- Can’t believe it’s already August and school is nearly starting
- Can’t believe it’s only August and school still isn’t starting
Either summer is dragging on forever, or you can’t believe it’s almost over.
I’m feeling some of both: this home renovation has monopolized every spare minute of the summer, and sometimes it feels like it will never end, but then again, moving day is just around the corner!
As much as I love fall, I’m soaking in this season. When I step outside my front door into a sunny, blue skied day in the 70’s with a cool breeze, I can’t help but exclaim gleefully: “I can’t believe I live here!” And then the next day, when I step out into 85 degrees with humidity, I make the same exclamation, but with a very different tone. Humidity and I are archenemies.
However your summer has gone so far, pour yourself a cold drink, and print off this list. Now, that’s a summer bucket list I can get behind!
