I’m not really sure where May went, but I did find some great things this month that I’ve been so excited to share! Most of these came from one Target trip. Does anyone else tend to run out of all their makeup at the same time? It gave me the opportunity to try out a few new products, and also cave on a few maternity items.
1. Pacifica Pineapple Facial Cleanser
Before our trip to Disney World at the beginning of the month, I picked up a few things at Target, including this cleanser. I’d almost used up the last of my stand-by Simple cleanser, and instead of just replacing it, I decided to treat myself a little bit with something tropical, just for some extra summer vibes. This cleanser fit the profile perfectly. It smells like a vacation and has been wonderful to my face. And pretty packaging doesn’t hurt either!
2. E.l.F. Pearl Paint
You may be familiar with the classic Glossier cloud paints – tubes of magical makeup that you can use as a blush, lip color, eye shadow, basically anything. I believe this pearl paint product is E.L.F.’s answer to that, plus they added shimmer! I’ve been tapping a very tiny amount of this on my cheekbones or eyelids in the color “Pink Lady.” Using too much gives me flashbacks to the late 90’s or early 2000’s, when we used to swipe glitter across our cheeks, wear glitter lotion from Bath & Body Works, and put as many glittery butterfly clips in our hair as we could fit.
I’ve avoided all glittery makeup since then due to Post-traumatic Glitter Sress, but this really doesn’t look glittery as much as glowy. The subtle color and shimmer are perfect for summer, when we all want to look sunkissed and radiant.
3. E.L.F Eyeliner Pen
I ran out of eyeliner, and replaced my liquid eyeliner with this marker. I don’t wear eyeliner every day in the summer, but when I want to, this really delivers. It’s so easy to put on – much easier than my old liquid liner – and it gives you a very pronounced line. If you like winged eye-liner, or want to try it, this would be perfect. And did I mention that it’s $2?
4. Maternity Workout Pants and Bra
I finally got tired of the waistband of my yoga pants digging into my stomach and bought these Ingrid and Isabel dark gray maternity workout pants. I’m SO happy I did! The crossover panel gives your belly support, without making your back sweaty. I am a big fan!
I also caved and bought a bigger workout bra – just this little basic one from Champion, also in gray, and it’s been perfect for yoga class.
5. Declan and Crew Tees
This mama-made and owned shop’s tee’s always make me laugh when they come across my Instagram feed. With sayings like, “I know why Mama Bear’s porridge was cold,” how can you go wrong? The “Moms just want to have fun …. and by fun I mean take a nap” tee might be my favorite.
