After Spring faked us out again last week by warming up to 60 degrees, and then dumping eight inches of snow, I needed some spring decor in my life! This super simple wreath is made from a thrifted embroidery hoop! Watch the video for the tutorial.
How To Make A Simple Spring Wreath
You’ll need:
- embroidery hoop (Thrift stores are perfect for finding these very inexpensively!)
- floral tape
- hot glue gun
- fake flowers and greenery
- ribbon or twine for hanging
Steps to Make the Spring Wreath
First, we’ll use the inside ring of the embroidery hoop, but you can make a second wreath with the other ring if you’d like.
Arrange your greenery to form the base. I’m going for an asymmetrical look. Then, attach the greenery by wrapping the floral tape around the stem and the hoop. The tape will stick to itself if you stretch it a bit.
Then, arrange your flowers. Trim them as needed, and remove any extra leaves that are in the way. Attach these just like you did the greenery.
I used hot glue to attach the rose in the center of the wreath, because there wasn’t a stem to wrap. Honestly, you could use hot glue for the whole thing, but it does get messy sometimes and I like the cleaner look with the green floral tape. Be generous with your hot glue – you don’t want the flower popping off!
I finished my wreath with a bit of pink ribbon for hanging it. And if anyone has tips on how to tie a nice bow, please help me out!
