Sometimes, a day is too wonderful for words. I’m just basking in all of today’s joy. Even being on facebook is an encouragement to me, since status after status is praising God for his wonderful gift of salvation. What a tremendous realization that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is present in us! And the knowledge that Jesus conquered death itself, the thought of heaven, is so sweet to me this year, after the loss of my Aunt Joy. This is her first Easter in heaven, in the very presence of Jesus.
So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
55 “O Death, where is your sting?
O Hades, where is your victory?”
56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Happy Easter friends!
My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
